Inside Bonicel Denim: From Kansas City Dreams to Timeless Jeans

I'm Davis, owner of Window Wolf. I started the Window Wolf Shines series because I wanted to find local entrepreneurs in KC and shine a spotlight on their business and story. There are so many unique people in Kansas City with rich stories and businesses worth sharing.

I was asking friends if they had recommendations on businesses I should interview. One of my close friends, Aaron, told me I needed to reach out to Easton, who was launching a denim jean line. I learned about this just five days before the launch of his new KC men's clothing brand. I thought to myself, how cool would it be to talk to this guy before he officially launches his business? I know how many hours, and how much blood, sweat, and tears go into starting something new. I wanted to capture that anticipation and excitement—this major milestone in Easton's life that he's probably been working toward for years.

Little did I know, Easton has been dreaming of launching his own jean line for his entire life. I DMed him on Instagram, and we set up the interview for the day before his launch. I couldn't have been more excited for the opportunity.

Immediately, I started thinking about what I wanted to ask Easton. I knew little about denim. Sure, I wear jeans every other day, but when I thought about the actual product, I realized there was so much more to learn. So, I wanted to focus this interview on the unique craft of denim. There’s so much history and so many ties to American culture, and I wanted to dive into every aspect of this quintessential element of American style. A pair of blue jeans.

What unfolded blew my expectations out of the water. I didn’t just come to understand Easton's craft; I grew a genuine appreciation for what I now consider to be another form of art. Within the first minute of meeting Easton, I could tell his passion for denim and his brand was apparent.

We started with some warm-up questions to ease into the interview. One that stood out was when I asked who his dream person would be to wear his jeans. His reply surprised me but made me respect him even more. He said, “Truthfully, to see someone like you that I just met, liking my jeans and wearing them, without knowing a ton about me yet, would be so much cooler than sending them to ASAP Rocky for free.” This response was genuine and authentic. It showed Easton really cares about the local community and customer experience above all else.

After the interview, he showed me a few custom pieces that meant a lot to him. I told Easton, “I feel like everything you’ve shown me is something someone would want to wear every day of the week,” and he replied, “that’s the best compliment.”

At the heart of Bonicel Denim is a men’s clothing line designed and inspired by Easton’s experience, built to last. I asked Easton if he could describe Bonicel Denim in one word. His answer? Timeless.

Watch the full interview below to learn his story. Support Easton's dream by following his page on Instagram or TikTok, and invest in a pair of jeans made locally in KC, crafted with passion and love in every stitch. This conversation with Easton is one I’ll hold with me forever. It shows how truly great Kansas City is, and highlights the people who make this place special.
